Jim is a specialist on the economic impacts of business risk management, environmental regulations, is an ISO 9000 and ISO14000 Certified Lead Auditor by the Institute of Quality Assurance in London, England, speaks nationally on a variety of business and environmental issues, has authored two noteworthy books, The Environmental Regulatory Dictionary and, The PCB Management Handbook; both published by John Wiley & Sons. Jim has a diverse consulting and project management background in all aspects of the regulatory and legislative process.  Jim uses his extensive experience to provide clients with in-depth business, quality, safety, and environmental management systems development, implementation, and training. Jim assists clients with evaluating prospective risk management activities; and can provide environmental liability risk assessments for financing and insuring real property.

As an ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 Lead Auditor under the IRCA scheme (A009034) Jim has: 

• 30 years of environmental compliance experience in a wide variety of industries
• Represented the electric utility industry in Washington, D.C. during RCRA, TSCA and CERCLA rulemakings and litigation.
• 25 years of quality auditing experience in oil services industry, coal mining operations and nuclear power plant site evaluation, and permitting.
• Taught over 100 Lead 9000, 14000, Implementation (for 9000 and 14000), internal auditing, and environmental cost accounting classes.
• Consulted and/or provided training throughout the U.S., Japan, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, Ecuador, Spain and Canada.
• Held U.S. Department of Energy “Q” clearance.
• An ISO 14000 Lead since 1996.
• An ISO 9000 Lead since 1995.

Jim has a B.S. in Finance and Economics (Cum Laude) from New York Institute of Technology
